Sovereign Sunday: The Long Night, Lambos on Parade and an Apologia for Genocide
Plus Eerie Similarities between a Great Depression Diary and Today
Happy Sovereign Sunday coming to you from the Free Republic of Florida! While people at home in NY are enduring snow storms and Stasi-like neighbors snitching them out for not wearing a mask in their car, Miami is maskless and operating at full capacity with Lambos on parade.
Meanwhile, in the ‘real’ world, there was lots of noise this week, very little signal.
Highlights were the Mars rover (even money it’s CGI - I mean, I can’t get cell phone service in the Valley but we’re sending shuttles to Mars?? ), the Texas deep freeze, and Bitcoin continuing it's bull rampage.
As I've said repeatedly, Bitcoin is less an instrument of speculation, and more a barometer on the health of the Global (especially US) economic-political-societal SYSTEM. Up nearly 500% in the past few months, #Bitcoin is a big vote of no-confidence in our current ‘leaders’ and the status quo.
Elsewhere, the US military-industrial-technocratic surveillance state's descent into woke totalitarian madness and Chinese subjugation continued unabated. This Black Pill reality continues to dominate my thoughts and it seems clearer each week that the Land of the Free is not salvageable. The criminalization of political differences and wholesale attempt across the spectrum to label half the country, ‘Domestic Terrorists’ is a strong tell where this is heading.
And like all corrupt authoritarian empires, the deep state kleptocracy will eventually fail. But there could be a long period of violence, chaos and oppression that most here never thought possible. Despite their numerical disadvantage, the ruling caste expertly utilizes the weapons of a technocratic surveillance state to amplify the ability of a small, evil minority to control a larger population. If nothing else, the Pandemic psyop showed how easy it was to get most of the population to comply with self-destructive measures backed by a complete lack of evidence or common sense when reinforced by ‘experts’ and their propaganda machines in the media.
In the past few years, I’ve written and spoken at length about the joint and several options of Starve, Secede, Build and/or Exit.
While total Secession, Building or Exiting may not be possible today depending on your personal circumstances and risk profile, Starvation is available to anyone that sees the danger, corruption and hatred of the Totalitarian Left. I'll elaborate further in the coming weeks, but the basic premise is to Starve the Beast. While there are more advanced techniques that do everything legally possible under the sun to starve the federal government and broke state/city governments of tax revenue through sophisticated tax planning strategies, the simplest thing John Q. Citizen can do TODAY is to refuse to spend a single $$ with corporations like Disney, Nike and others that propagate and support this madness. Weaponize your capital and take your money out of big banks and store it in bitcoin or local credit unions. And most importantly, shop hyper-local. Skip Amazon and the other multi-national predators and stick with local small businesses. Recycle your hard earned dollars in the community and starve the Leviathan while working to build, aligned networked communities.
If you live in a progressive hellhole like NYC or LA, the best approach is to relocate if possible. There's very little that can be done to reverse the slide into the Long Night without the coming bankruptcy and decline of living standards. Wealthy people realize that capital is mobile these days and they're picking up and moving to Florida, Texas and even out of the country. When the tax base collapses, governments will either raise taxes to make up for the deficit or cut programs and spending on things like police and housing, etc. The end result is a vicious cycle of rapidly declining standards of living, followed by additional exodus and further tax base declines. Wash, rinse repeat.
While a state like Texas has been a massive beneficiary of the exodus out of blue states and cities, they did suffer a once in a century storm, and the MSM spent the week screaming at Ted Cruz for taking a trip to Cancun instead of staying home to deliver water and chop firewood. Admittedly, the optics suck. And while it’s official DC policy that the serfs should never interfere with the hedonistic pursuits of their masters, the Cruz fiasco was a convenient distraction from the fact that the puppet propped up as our President had the single most embarrassing exchange with the public of any President in the history of our nation.
In an exchange on CNN, Biden stated that the Chinese genocide of the Uighurs and brutally violent repression of Hong Kong protestors were merely the result of different ‘cultural norms’ and refused to condemn them. From FDR and Reagan’s strident defense of democracy and freedom to refusing to even condemn genocide. How far we’ve fallen.
I made a personal pledge towards the end of 2020 to do everything I can to stand in alignment with my commitment to spend my money with local shopkeepers and buy American.
God awful public policy decisions around the pandemic combined with hostile technological, demographic and political trends have put local mom and pop businesses behind the 8 ball.
So apart from my efforts in the decentralized space and Project Noa, I’m taking deliberate steps to do what I can to support Main Street including avoiding Amazon, Walmart and their ilk where possible and eating/shopping local (google 'CSA' or community supported agriculture).
Hyper-local spending keeps those dollars recycled in our respective communities and makes sure they don't go to cheap Chinese goods or multinationals that piss on our country and values.
Tangible, deliberate action everyday to spread love to Mom and Pops and local American businesses.
In sum, I'm making a big Bet on Main Street. And that means whenever possible:
1. Buy local
2. Tip generously
3. Pay or tip in cash when convenient
We can either lament the demise of American small business or we can do something about it.
The choice is ours. Let’s #BetOnMainStreet and #ShopLocal. Do what you can to support local small businesses.
Keep your eyes peeled for other hyper-local measures like New Hampshire's recently started "Support Local - Go the extra mile" program.
Americans have spent the better part of the last 3 decades believing politicians, industrialists and technocrats telling us buying Chinese and importing endless cheap labor would be great for the country. The reality is these devastating policies destroyed jobs, destroyed American manufacturing, and enriched our sworn enemy.
The Covid mess left us vulnerable and illustrated how much of our pharmaceutical, rare earth metals and other supply chains are all totally dependent on China for sourcing. It's time to rebuild America, and redirect the energy back to America, businesses, jobs and innovation.
This guy below disagrees, but we'll see in the next 24 months whether the people can reverse the trend of concentration of power and capital in the hands of the few and Chinese entrenchment here at home, or whether our days as a Republic are over.

Russia is interesting for multiple reasons. It certainly won’t happen under this administration which is bought and paid for by China, Inc, but a sane approach would be to employ Russia as an ally and use them as a strategic (and military) check on China. Just as Nixon brilliantly used China as a counter to Russia, so should we invert that policy and employ surrounding allies to economically and philosophically decapitate the CCP until they crumble. Sadly, we’ve likely missed that opportunity as they are now embedded everywhere at the highest levels in most US institutions and levers of power.
