As I boldly (sarcasm) suggested last week, the Great Eclipse of 2024 passed without much disruption.
No end of times. More towards the end of reason and sanity side of the swimming pool if anything.
The internet is never one to let pass without incident so besides the run of the mill photoshopped lunacy (the moon was actually visible to the left of the eclipse, this was a cigar UFO in Texas), the best post eclipse conspiracy is the large black image that coincided with the eclipse off the coast of Africa.
Was it a meteor strike? Large alien craft taking off from it’s underwater base? Or just an error on the data (most likely).
To my conspiracy minded friends on Twitter and elsewhere, can I just say we have ENOUGH real-world verified conspiracies (ahem, Covid) without having to dig deep into outer space or beneath the oceans.
As I also boldly suggested last week, I fear an authoritative, incompetent totalitarian government and the communists/jihadists that we’ve invited into our country more than any natural disaster or phenomena.
Let’s stick to and push back on what’s in front of us that we can see with our own two eyes without getting distracted.
This was a fairly quiet week on the macro front with the exception of the pending Iranian attack on Israel, so the letter will be brief. Use the time to keep working on your fitness, critical supply storage and stacking sats. Here’s a few stories that caught my eye this week.
Mr. Fauci Goes to Langley
The extent of what can be described as the Great COVID Cover-up continues to stagger my mind. Recent investigations have uncovered that officials from at least 15 federal agencies were aware as early as 2018 that the Wuhan Institute of Virology, in collaboration with Peter Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance, aimed to engineer a coronavirus eerily similar to what would later be known as COVID-19.
Despite having prior knowledge of these experiments, which involved inserting a furin-cleavage site into a coronavirus to create a novel, chimeric virus, not a single one of these agencies alerted the public to the potential dangers. This silence persisted even as the DEFUSE project, the initiative spearheading this research, was being pitched to these agencies for funding in January 2018.
For years, Rand Paul and others have waged a battle to obtain records from various federal bodies regarding the origins of COVID-19 and the details of the DEFUSE project. It was only under considerable pressure that the administration released documents confirming that this project was indeed presented to these agencies.
The implications are profound and disturbing: these agencies knew from the outset of the pandemic that there was a plan in place to create a virus genetically similar to COVID-19. None of the involved agencies took the initiative to issue warnings about the risks associated with the research being conducted at the Wuhan lab.
Key figures in this scenario include Peter Daszak and University of North Carolina scientist Ralph Baric. Despite their deep involvement, they failed to disclose their knowledge about the planned experiments. Additionally, Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) was briefed on, and actively participated in, the initial pitch of the DEFUSE project. Ian Lipkin, whose lab received substantial funding from EcoHealth, was also involved yet remained silent on these critical developments.
This collective silence extended even when COVID-19 began spreading globally and its characteristics were notably similar to the virus proposed in the DEFUSE project. No agency head came forward to suggest the virus might have been man-made, potentially already adapted for efficient human transmission.
The fallout from this lack of transparency is immeasurable. Millions have died from COVID-19, a virus that evidence suggests was not merely a zoonotic spillover but rather a laboratory-manipulated entity designed for human infection. And that was just from the virus itself. The “cure” (lockdowns, vaccines, etc) was infinitely worse and we are still paying a hefty price to this day.
The revelations were only brought to light thanks to the courage of a whistleblower, Lt. Col. Joseph Murphy, a Marine who stepped forward with the truth. It's a stark indictment of the numerous government officials who chose silence over public safety, obscuring critical information that could have prepared the world for the impending crisis or perhaps even prevented the pandemic.
The silence and subsequent cover-up by those who knew about the DEFUSE project is a glaring betrayal of public trust. It is essential that those responsible be held accountable, admit the truth, and face consequences. Furthermore, this debacle underscores the urgent need for Congress to implement stringent oversight to ensure that potentially dangerous gain-of-function research is thoroughly vetted and regulated to prevent similar catastrophes in the future. The stakes, as we have seen, could not be higher.
Kudos to Rand Paul for being one of the few politicians in the US brave enough fighting to demand accountability from Fauci, Dasczak and the other architects of the Covid pandemic.
And don’t be surprised when the usual suspects in the Mockingbird Media assassinate his character amid cries of misinformation.
Just remember these are the same people who told you it was 100% certain that Covid came from some poor Chinaman eating an uncooked bat from a wet market in Wuhan - not the Level 4 BioLab right next door where China and the US had been collaborating on gain-of-function research for years to create a deadlier version of a human-susceptible virus.
Brazil - A Vision of the US under a 2nd Biden Term
Brazil seems to be running a test case for the world what a 2nd Biden term may look like, and it appears that the autocrat in charge of the nation had a huge helping hand from the CIA and State Department in its recent contested election and subsequent crackdown on dissidents.
The Brazilian government’s authoritarian stance and its aggressive campaign against X, the platform formerly known as Twitter should be deeply troubling to anyone paying attention about the rise of totalitarianism and war on free speech.
This situation demands condemnation on several fronts, primarily for its blatant disregard for the principles of freedom of speech and individual liberty—tenets that are crucial not only in democratic societies but also as a standard for human rights globally.
The actions of the Brazilian government under President Lula da Silva illustrate a disturbing trend towards censorship and control over the digital discourse. The administration's attempt to regulate and manipulate the flow of information on X is a dire encroachment on freedom of expression. Such moves set a perilous precedent, signaling to other nations that it's acceptable to throttle the free exchange of ideas under the guise of government oversight.
Democratic principles assert that individual liberty and freedom from government interference are paramount. The right to express oneself freely on platforms like X is a modern extension of the fundamental right to free speech. By infringing upon this right, the Brazilian government not only undermines the autonomy of its citizens but also jeopardizes the democratic fabric of society.
From a conservative and classical liberal viewpoint, the preservation of free speech is critical for the maintenance of a healthy, functioning democracy. It ensures a marketplace of ideas where dialogue can flourish without fear of government retribution or censorship. Therefore, it is imperative that we stand against Brazil's authoritarian measures and advocate for the reinstatement of unfettered civil liberties. We must champion the cause of freedom, not just in Brazil, but around the globe, encouraging nations to embrace openness and resist the allure of authoritarian governance.
Here’s Michael Shellenberger why Brazil should concern you:
Just a day and a half ago, it seemed like things were calming in Brazil. The Folha de São Paulo, the New York Times of Brazil, editorialized against censorship. The head of the Brazilian Bar Association gave a strong statement in support of freedom of expression. And the President of Brazil’s Supreme Court said the conflict between Brazil and X, formerly known as Twitter, was over. “People talk a big game but don’t act on their words,” he said
All of that has once again changed. Yesterday, Brazil’s President Lula called for criminalizing lying. Given that everybody lies, Lula is proposing to give the government the power to arrest anyone he wants. Thousands of Workers Party activists took to X yesterday to demand that I be arrested for things I said during my testimony before the Brazilian Senate. And today, the head of X in Brazil announced they have quit out fear for their safety.
I am not afraid for myself. As I said on X a few days ago, I fear neither the devil nor de Moraes, the Supreme Court justice rapidly turning himself into Brazil’s dictator. I am taking all necessary precautions to ensure that I can leave Brazil safely and without being arrested. You can help by sharing this video and spreading the word about what is happening here.
And yet, what is happening in Brazil terrifies me nonetheless. I love this country and its people and fear that it is on the cusp of totalitarianism. A significant share of the Left wants to incarcerate their political enemies. Respected Brazilian journalists say with a straight face that the government must engage in mass censorship in order to protect democracy. Brazil is everything that George Orwell feared and worse. The Brazilian government appears to view “1984” not as a dystopia to avoid but rather as a guide to a better future.
I would be less worried if Brazil were small and irrelevant, but it’s not. Brazil is the largest and most important nation in Latin America. Just this week, top Brazilian government representatives were in China talking about how China, one of the most totalitarian nations in the world, is a model for Brazil. Brazil is an inspiration for European totalitarians who have weaponized government intelligence agencies to spread disinformation about their political enemies and are implementing a censorship system to control the entire Internet.
The most terrifying part of all of this is the marriage of psychopathic government leaders like Lula and de Moraes with totalitarian activists and voters. Governments have successfully brainwashed a significant percentage of the population into supporting mass censorship. Young adults raised on social media are today more intolerant than the students in China’s Cultural Revolution in China who denounced their teachers and sent them off to work camps to be tortured.
At the same time, people with a mentality no different from the people who ran the Stasi and the Gestapo are in charge of intelligence agencies in Europe and the United States.
Yesterday, the U.S. House of Representatives renewed legislation that gives the US government the right to spy on Americans suspected of collaborating with foreign governments. The result will be McCarthyism on steroids. The FBI will be able to spy on any American citizen who dares to criticize the war in Ukraine. The US government will label people who oppose endless wars in Eurasia as “political extremists,” ruining their careers, or worse.
During the rise of Communism and fascism in Europe, many Jews and other persecuted people could flee to the United States. Where will we flee if the United States continues down the road to totalitarianism? Not Europe. Not Brazil. Is any country safe in a world where every movement, transaction, and thought is being monitored?
I keep waiting for the downward spiral to hit bottom, and it never does. I am naturally optimistic, but sometimes, that means I have tended toward wishful thinking. Such wishful thinking is dangerous and irresponsible in moments like this one. So, too, is passivity.
We must act. That starts with standing up to the bullies, all of whom are cowards on the inside. Elon Musk stood up to the bully de Moraes last week and appears to be holding strong. Tonight, he will hold a Spaces with the controversial former president of Brazil, whom the Supreme Court has prevented from running for office again for another eight years.
My colleagues and I are building a new free-speech movement. All of the organizations we used to rely upon to defend human rights, including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and ACLU, have been taken over by totalitarians demanding censorship. We are gathering in London in June. We are starting our own free-speech NGOs around the world.
Dearborn - The Democrats Vision of the Future of America
Forgive me for celebrating with schadenfreude for a moment but I thoroughly enjoyed the scene at Professor Erwin Chemerinsky’s home this week. Chemerinsky, a former Professor of mine, is the current Dean of UC Berkeley Law School.
Every year, the Dean holds a celebratory dinner for graduating students.
This year, as Malcolm X once noted, the chickens came home to roost.
Chemerinsky while a brilliant Constitutional scholar, is a notorious leftist and openly mocked the Supreme Court and defended race based admissions and other DEI initiatives that penalized white and Asian students based merely on the color of their skin.
So it was apropos that the "'white Zionist'“ Chemerinsky got a taste of his own medicine when a dozen Hamas sympathizers stood up and begin disrupting the graduation dinner and refused to leave.
Here’s the video.
Imagine going through 3 years of law school and still not understanding the first amendment or trespassing…. Hopefully the Bar refuses to admit her based on ethical unsuitability. And if Chemerinsky had any balls, he’d write a letter asking for the above.
And of course they break out the classic move that defines nearly every interaction with these garbage humans where the aggressor then claims to be the victim. Here’s the playbook:
1. Orchestrates a surprise maneuver to exploit and seize control over an act of goodwill and hospitality, extended by two Jewish individuals in their own home.
2. Stubbornly resists leaving the private property and actively instigates further conflict.
3. Utilizes her identity as a "Muslim woman" to manipulate the situation and issues threats of repercussions…and press charges.
Remember when liberals lost their minds over this objectively true WSJ opinion headline?
While the '“Pro-Palestinian” riots, protests and marches have given any clear eyed American enough info to realize most of these people are terrorist supporters and incompatible with American values, last week we were fortunate enough to see the thinly veiled mask of the movement come off for a few moments.
During the International Al-Quds Day rally in Dearborn, Michigan, protesters paid homage to the Ayatollah Khomeini and chanted "Death to America!" Additionally, speakers at the event described America as one of the "rottenest countries" on Earth and equated Israel and the US with ISIS/Nazis, and labeling them as a cancer.
Imagine if we had a non-weaponized FBI? They might even consider some of these Jihad worshippers as a national security threats on par with parents who opposed school shutdowns or Catholic priests who opposed Covid lockdowns.
Would it be too much to ask the FBI and DOJ to at least put on par Islamic fundamentalists from terrorist regimes chanting ‘Death to America’ with Christian Grandmas in MAGA hats?
Then again, if society and law enforcement can’t notice the differences between a man and a woman how can we expect people to know the difference of right from wrong, good from evil?
Most of these Keffiyeh wearing Palestinian supporters aren’t interested in peace, their own state, or the hostages being returned. Just like Jihadists and Islamists throughout history, they’re interested in one thing - the total subjugation or death of anyone that looks or thinks differently from them, especially white American Devils. The only people they hate more are Israelis and Jews.
And yet somehow, we not only allow these people in our country but have actually thrown the borders wide open and invite more of them.
If Trump wins, his second move (first being shutting the damn border and deploying the military along the entire Southern border to enforce it) should be to strip anyone that participated in these riots, protests and terrorist threats of their visas if they are not citizens and immediately deport them.
They add nothing to the world much less our own country and are not compatible with a free, democratic society.
Victor Davis Hanson summarizes it for all of us:
The Pro-Hamas Crowds will Soon Have a Rendezvous with Reality
For over six months, the anti-Israel, pro-Hamas protests have accelerated, and now are predictably incendiary and violent.
Recently, they have jumped the shark with unapologetic chants of “Death to America”. Or so a cheering crowd in Michigan chanted in homage to the late king of all Western-hostage-takers, the murderous Ayatollah Khomeini. And the huckster speaker revved them up by quoting Malcolm X that America is "one of the rottenest countries that has ever existed on this Earth." (Does such a condemnation of fellow Americans presage mass reverse migration of unhappy Middle Easterners back to the West Bank, Gaza, and Iran?)
The more these demonstrators shut down major bridges at commute hour, defaced iconic government monuments and cemeteries, disrupted Easter and Christmas services (try that with mosques at Ramadan), broke into the Capitol and congressional chambers (no January 6-like penalties to come?), and hunted down Jewish students, the bolder they became.
Apparently, the demonstrators were convinced that they were either exempt under the woke aegis, or too precious in Joe Biden’s Michigan electoral calculus, or too useful to campuses as rich full-tuition-paying foreign students on gold-plated student visas.
But everything and everyone have limits. They have now crossed them, and are about to face an accounting, and for a variety of reasons.
1) News is leaking out that Hamas may have for some time been bluffing about a ceasefire for hostages. Given Hamas has suddenly announced that they cannot meet the conditions of the proposed ceasefire, since not all the forty women and sick and elderly men taken hostage are still alive.
If true, then their months of bartering and “negotiating” were a likely sham, and their earlier claims that three hostages were collateral damage of Israeli strikes become more dubious.
Why would they kill their escape route?
To hide their torturing and raping of the kidnapped? In furor at their own-self-inflicted dilemmas? Sick hatred of Jews?
Who knows? But, if true, this may remind the gullible West that it cannot trust anything the lying Hamas says: that the ultimate fate of the hostages did not depend on the Israeli entrance into Gaza, given that Hamas had either already killed many of the remaining kidnapped, or had planned to do so under any circumstances.
2) For the first time since the ‘60s, universities are facing protests that they genuinely fear. College presidents are starting to realize that if they continue to allow the pro-Hamas violent demonstrators to make a mockery of campus rules and laws, they soon will have no campus at all. And the mob then will determine who can and cannot speak with impunity. Administrators’ tolerance of overt anti-Semitism and violence against Jews is turning American campuses into something like late-1930s German universities.
3) Yet at Vanderbilt and Pomona we for the first time are witnessing a return to administrative sanity, marked by suspensions and exemptions. And the reactions of those held accountable confirm how pathetic these bullies are. They prove eager to resort to violence and crash into lecture halls, only suddenly to become fragile and terrified for their beautiful career plans endangered by a modicum of accountability. Expect more universities to be encouraged by just how well deterrence can work against woke thuggery.
4) Joe Biden’s pandering in Michigan is reaching the point of obscenity and if continued will be counter-productive. For each Muslim-American voter he thinks he can keep by abandoning Israel and protecting the agendas of the October 7 killers and kidnappers, he is going to lose two voters appalled that fellow-Americans in Michigan are now calling for death to America.
Biden is so confident of the Jewish-American vote and donor class that he is now siding with those calling for the absolute destruction of the Jewish state and everyone inside. Is he convinced that his Jewish base is permanently in tune with Chuck Schumer—or will it finally have had enough?
5) The old myth that being anti-Israel had nothing to do with being anti-Semitic is now exposed for the lie it mostly always was. The pro-Hamas crowd makes no distinction, and certainly not on campus, where the more educated the protestor, the more likely he is to harass Jews first, and ask questions later if at all about whether his targets support Israel.
The new myth that being pro-Gaza has nothing to do with being pro-Hamas is equally exposed as a lie by the chants of “from the River to the Sea” and calls for a return to the pre-1947 borders—in other words, the Hamas charter of destroying Israel.
6) Do these protestors who scream “Genocide Joe” really see an alternative in November? Because the more they show America who they are and what their values and agenda intend, the more they make it clear why we need to reexamine every aspect of immigration, junk DEI and substitute required civic education, and undertake a complete reappraisal of higher education. The latter would revisit current tax-exempt endowment income, government subsidized student loans, massive unaudited federal grants, the huge number of foreign students, and their exemption from federal oversight.
It is long past time to overhaul of the student visa programs, replete with rapid cancellations of visas and deportations for those who come to study but end up breaking our laws.
In sum, the more brazen the pro-Hamas crowd and the more they reveal the cravenness of the Biden administration, the more they may ensure their rendezvous with Donald Trump in 2025. - VDH
SAT Scores
In what appears to be the beginning of the end of the educational equivalent of “defund the police”, Harvard University has announced that it will reinstate the requirement of standardized test scores for undergraduate admissions starting with the Fall 2025 admissions cycle.
This move follows similar decisions by other Ivy League institutions, such as Princeton, Brown and Yale, to reinstate standardized testing requirements in the last couple of weeks.
And so ends the experiment where we decided to pretend for a decade that standardized testing wasn’t a good indicator of success in college and was just one of the many legs of the table we tried to remove in order to make it easier (and less obvious) to admit unqualified minority students.
Apparently, the SAT is no longer racist, according to the Ivy League, which finally admits SATs are best at predicting applicant success
Hopefully, the entire world continues to wake up from the woke moronic nightmare. This is a small step. There are plenty more to go.
Iran
The biggest news of the week likely will happen sometime late Saturday or Sunday after this issue goes to press.
Iran is anticipated to initiate a retaliatory strike against Israel, potentially employing a combination of missiles and drones. The scale and efficacy of this response remain uncertain.
After Trump was loudly criticized by the Regime media for killing Iranian terror General Qasem Soleimani, Iran publicly broadcast to the world that it would retaliate in a massive counterstrike.
Privately, they called the Trump administration and assured them the missiles would be targeted at secondary non-critical bases in Iraq and elsewhere. In other words, more bark than bite.
Sane observers hope that the forthcoming strike will similarly focus on less critical targets within Israel, such as facilities in the Golan Heights, rather than major urban centers like Tel Aviv. This approach would mitigate the risk of severe escalation and potential for widespread harm.
The big difference is the world respected and was afraid of Trump. Biden is a global laughingstock and we’ve seen the predictable and obvious result of a world on fire when the leader of the free world is a demented nursing home patient who can barely form a coherent sentence while lauding the trans/DEI military we’ve built.
The chaos is palpable. From the hasty declarations that "Ukraine will join NATO" to potentially deploying NATO troops into the fray, not to mention Iran's unchecked audacity fueled by Obama/Biden’s overly generous revival—lifting sanctions and funneling billions their way. It's like we've opened the gates, inviting a level of global instability that nudges us ever closer to World War III.
What should be painfully obvious to any observer is that NATO is a proxy for the United States, and that Europe and the rest of the inhabitants are totally worthless.
Under Biden, the U.S. itself has seen better days. Between the debacle of an exit from Afghanistan, controversial vaccine mandates, and a fixation on 'woke' policies at the expense of raw competence, we’ve lost the deterrence edge that past U.S. leadership carved out so effectively. Now, adversaries like China, Russia, and Iran are sizing us up, seeing a weakened opponent where once stood a formidable foe.
No quick fixes are on the horizon, just a ticking clock as we count down to the next election cycle, hoping for a leadership reset that can restore balance and sanity. Until then, it's about survival, about keeping the ship steady in turbulent waters, hoping we can hold out until a more capable captain can take the wheel.
Israel is in a fight for its life. The world wakes up and realizes there is no making peace with fundamental Islamist terror nations and their Jihadist supporters abroad and domestically.
Remember in 2020 when Biden said he was worried Trump was going to get us in a war with Iran?
What I’m Watching and Reading….
Americans are so spoiled and complacent, we think it’s safe enough to give up our liberty and firearms.
It’s too often that immigrants who escaped true oppression have to remind Americans that the world is not all sunshine and rainbows.
God bless Lilly Tang Williams for speaking up at a town meeting in response to gun grabber David Hogg.
A young Brazilian congressman warned the UN about what is happening in his country and dropped some 🔥 in the process. Here is his speech.

Mr. Kimelman, everything you said is spot-on, outstanding summary breakdown of what ails us. But I'm afraid it's going to take decades for some sanity to return, since the last 60 years are what caused this disaster. It's time to rest in Christ, and pray for his return. Thank you for this article!
Next up on the Covid front! Self-replicating mRNA 'vaccine' that has the potential to spread from person to person, and (stray) pets. Apparently there's already at least 4k human test subjects in Fukuoka, Japan alone.

They stopped listing the muslim brotherhood as a national threat?
I'd bet the SAT scores are being reintroduced due to the ivies seeing the writing on the wall and know that they won't be getting more bailouts with the economy tanking.
> Sweden has Europe's highest rate of gang-land killings.
It's so long ago so I don't remember the exact year; but already back around 2010 Sweden had the highest amount of active Jihadists, using the country as their base, per capita in the world baring some of their home countries.
