One of the most difficult realizations for civilians is to arrive at the conclusion that the powers that be, our political leaders, institutions and media are all actively working to demean, demoralize and destabilize our population.
Whether it is a ‘Grand Plan”, a “Great Reset” or just the obvious anti-democratic tendencies that everyone from Tocqueville on warned us about, it’s apparent that most of our elected leaders have one priority and one priority only - staying in power.
When you look through the lens that all the political actors are there to stay in power and enrich themselves, things make a lot more sense.
That is one of the only explanations that offers an interpretive platform to sensemake our current societal predicament where we spend an inordinate amount of time on topics that are either unimportant, or actively detract and divert our attention from things that matter. Take Ukraine for example.
As part of the latest iteration of the ‘Great Game’, the Obama Administration actively overthrew the Ukrainian government in a CIA backed coup in 2014 in a so-called ‘Color Revolution.’ If you’re not familiar with the history, see the Oliver Stone documentary ‘Ukraine on Fire’ and any other non-MSM journalism for an overview.
If any of us had real skin in the game in Ukraine, we would be suing for peace right now. But since we bear very little of the physical burden and it’s the Ukrainian citizens being used as fodder for the grind mill, our government is more than happy to fight a proxy war with Russia until every last Ukrainian is dead. Only then, can we sue for peace.
Forget about the human toll for a moment. What is striking is the enormous financial burdens we’ve assumed in order to fight this illegal proxy war (has there been a declaration of Congress? Any real attempt to explain to the American people why there is any strategic reason for us to be fighting a war in Eurasia right now other than the silly analogy that Putin is to Europe as Hitler was to Europe?).
On the financial side, this is a hideous misallocation of resources. We’ve spent over $100B+ and counting on this voluntary, non-essential overseas adventure.
Has the Left considered for a second what could we do for $100B at home?
Here are a few examples.
In light of the massacre of innocent children & school staff in Nashville this week, for approximately, $10B, we could afford to place two armed guards and fortify the structural security AT EVERY SINGLE SCHOOL in America.
Gun control idiots please don’t waste your breath or my time. The only people that benefit from Gun Free Zones and Gun Control laws are criminals. Regardless, the overwhelming majority of gun owners will NEVER give us their firearms, especially after the insane totalitarianism and evil we’ve seen in our country over the last few years. The proper conclusion to draw is if they want to disarm you, it’s because they want to do something you’d shoot them for. So let’s focus on a solution that can actually work (and work immediately) versus the fantasy of confiscating everyones guns).
For $5-$15B, we could have built a wall and secured our border from the overhewlemoing numbers of illegal immigrants, fenatyl and other bad actors making their way across every day in greater numbers than we’ve seen in history (I feel like someone ran for office on this in 2016 but was told $5B was way too expensive and a poor use of resources).
For $50B, we could afford to give every homeless person in America shelter (I don’t believe this would be a good, long term use of resources as the primary cause of most homelessness is addiction and mental illness, but it is a good example of what we could do for the money we’ve sent Ukraine).
For another $5B, we could round out and likely cover every kid in K-12 who come homes without enough income to adequately provide and supplement or increase the SNAP, WIC and the national school lunch program. These are critical lifelines for families in need.
There are other federal and state programs that we know can make an enormous difference for hungry kids, such as the school breakfast program, the national summer meals program and the afterschool meals program.
Safe schools, a secure border, addressing the homeless issue, no child hungry….
These are just a few examples of what we could do to help our country and ordinary Americans instead of laundering money and fighting an unnecessary war in Ukraine. And the total price tag to accomplish all of these things is significantly less than the amount of money we sent to Ukraine last year.
So for all the Masked Up Karens, Low T Soyboys and Current Thing Betas with a Ukrainian flag in your bios, tell us again what your priorities are?
Trump Indicted
In one of the most telegraphed moves of all time, Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg unveiled a grand jury indictment of former President Trump last week.
Despite a host of issues with the actual case itself - statute of limitations, issues of selective prosecution, issues of tying the Stormy Daniels payment to an alleged campaign finance violation the Feds themselves declined to prosecute (as did Bragg’s predecessor in the Manhattan DA) - the case will offer some hardcore grist for the 2024 election and increase the Balkanization of both political sides of the spectrum.
Immediately after the indictment, Speaker Pelosi was one of the first Democratic ‘luminaries’ to stick her foot in her heavily subsidized mouth by tweeting out:
Guilty until proven innocent huh? Any 7th grader (at least those in private schools) knows the proper constitutional standard is ‘innocent until proven guilty’. In actuality, Pelosi was saying the quiet part out loud when it comes to conservatives in this country - there is a brutal double standard when it comes to the fair and just application of the law.
Case in point: Conservative Douglass Mackey was convicted this week and faces up to 10 years in prison for tweeting a joke telling Hillary Clinton supporters in 2016 to vote by text.
Put aside for the time being the fact that if you’re stupid enough not to know that a tweet by an obvious troll (whose profile photo is a hybrid of Bane and Ricky Vaughn from Major League) telling you to vote by text isn’t a valid method to vote, you probably shouldn’t be allowed to vote in the first place.
Regardless, numerous other Democrats posted similar jokes around the election but none of them have faced charges.
The double standard is galling. So yes, in the current Regime’s show trial bizarro world, memes are ‘election interference’ but arresting your opposition’s leading candidate is not.
The fallback shibboleth that much of the Left has been shouting from the rooftops this week is, “Nobody is above the law.”
If it wasn’t so craven and hypocritical, I would tend to agree. However, it’s clear that constitutional mantra only applies in one direction. After all, if no one is above the law, then how is it possible that:
Bill Clinton wasn’t prosecuted for paying off Paula Jones high six figures to settle his sexual assault of her?
On that front, I don’t recall names being revealed from the Congressional slush fund of taxpayer money that was used to payoff all the whores & gay blowjobs they got.
Nor do I remember Adam Schiff being looked at for using taxpayer money to settle this doozy back in 2013?
And those are just a few of the more minor ones. No pun intended.
More seriously and alarmingly, how is it possible in a 'No One is Above the Law’ world that:
Hunter Biden hasn’t been arrested for even one of his 459 crimes that are evident on the Laptop from Hell?
How about Hillary Clinton who not only obstructed evidence while under subpoena by destroying and bleaching her hard drive and other evidence but also was investigated for a similar ‘crime’ to Trump’s when she illegally classified her funding of the Steele Dossier opposition research that was the basis for the Russia Collusion hoax as ‘legal services’ and paid for it with campaign funds?
Last year she quietly settled the case and paid a small fine. I’m sure Trump was offered that same sweetheart deal.
Or how about the Commander Corpse in Chief who seems to leave a trail of classified documents nearly everywhere he goes? A similar accusation for Trump merited an FBI raid by dozens of law enforcement at Mar a Lago and was front page news for weeks. Yawns have treated Biden and his similar ‘crime’ of hiding and failing to secure classified docs in no less than five separate locations, including at the UPenn Biden Center paid for by his anonymous Chinese connections.
When you show me a special prosecutor and real investigation into ‘10% for the Big Guy’ and the literal LAUNDRY list of alleged crimes committed by the Biden Nepo Kleptos, then I’ll clutch my pearls and demand ‘justice’ the next Trump is investigated.
The two observations I’ll make about the Trump case is that it would have close to a zero percent chance of succeeding anywhere besides NYC, LA, DC and a handful of other blue city, TDS mental institutions.
However, it’s not elsewhere. It’s in dead center Manhattan aka Arkham Asylum. If Trump’s team can get the venue moved to Staten Island or anywhere upstate (or even Long Island), it’s unlikely you get a unanimous jury of 12 to convict on such a weak and novel case.
Second, for Bragg, this is trial by combat. Trump can survive a conviction and his chances may even improve.
I walked away from Trump in 2020 after two giant, obvious failures.
The first was his complete failure to make any real effort to ensure election integrity and security. After 2018, with the strongest economy in American history, Trump and Republicans got their clocks cleaned in the midterm by Nancy Pelosi and the DNC. If that wasn’t warning shot chest high, I don’t know what it would have taken to wake his administration up that there was a serious hole in the integrity of our elections.
But that’s Trump. He’s more myth than reality (which as a huge fan of Joseph Campbell, I know is important), but it takes actual competence to run a nation. Trump surrounded himself with other incompetents, Deep State vipers (John Bolton - are u F’n kidding me?), and general friends who weren’t up to the task of actually governing.
His huuuge and fatal mistake was assuming that the office of Presidency, constitutional law and other American principles were still valid and his efforts to govern would be respected. As I’ve written about time and time again, he failed to understand we are at the Pure Power Game point of late-stage capitalism, and that his opponents were cornered and fighting for their lives.
People would never cheat or conspire under those circumstances would they?
A proper analogy is, that if you played 3-3 basketball pickup game for $10,000 and one team had the ref in its pockets (judges, law enforcement, media, academia, federal bureaucracy), you can bet they would cheat here and there to tip the scales. An extra foul, a bribe, a hometown call or two, and anything else it would take to win. And that’s a basketball game with only a small bit of money at stake.
Now imagine, the fate of the world is at stake, total power, trillions of dollars and the potential for you to lose your lives and hang for treason if you lose…don’t you think that side would be incentivized to cheat and do everything possible to stay in or regain power?
Trump failed to understand the stakes involved and failed miserably at kneecapping the Deep State and administrative state.
His second giant, unforgivable failure was his reaction to the glorified cold Scamdemic known as Covid. Trump let China, Fauci, Birx and everyone else trample him and destroy our country and economy with lockdowns, masking and the disgusting duress and coercion we saw with the ‘vaccine’ efforts.
Instead of pushing back and preserving liberty, small business and the economy, he became the ultimate cuck and surrendered to Fauci, Birx and the rest of the corrupt and complicit public health ‘experts’ who were responsible for this virus in the first place.
He then compounded his failure by staking his Presidency on becoming the Big Pharma Salesman of the Decade by rushing to market an experimental genetic therapy that has killed or injured far more people than Covid, a mild virus that was easily treatable with any number of existing early interventions (except for Remdesevir and ventilators, which enriched lots of people but had the unfortunate side effect of killing the patient) that would have turned a flu like mortality into nothing more than a bad cold.
Instead, we suffered a complete annihilation of human rights, economic growth and personal freedom that we will pay the price for the rest of our lives.
Having said all that and my public writing backing DeSantis or Vivek, both whom I think are far superior candidates and more competent than Trump, this hyper-partisan prosecution and the other indictments waiting in the wings from the Georgia election interference case and the Mar a Lago classified docs investigation, will coalesce the Republican base around Trump as it becomes more and more obvious to Normies that the playing field has morphed into a battlefield and war against patriotic, Constitutional First Principle Americans by the Deep State and TDS bureaucracy.
So the end result is, Bragg wins, or his career is finished and so are many of the others involved in this case. For Trump, he can potentially win either way - with a conviction or an acquittal.
The bottom line is the rage and unfairness felt by one half of the country will continue to boil. Just as the Biden Regime attempts to militarize their shock troops in Antifa, BLM and now the RainbowShirts in the Trans Vengeance movement, regular Americans will feel they have nothing to lose as the system has stopped representing them in any way whatsoever.
As Ukraine gets more help than everyday Americans, the general lawlessness and malaise of high crime, high inflation and loss of economic security and high taxation without representation will lead to increasing violence and talk of a National Divorce.
As I wrote about last week, the accelerationist in me was sad DeSantis didn’t seize the opportunity to tell New York and Fat Alvin to GFY when news of the indictment first leaked.
DeSantis had an opening to improve his chances of winning the primary and accelerating the breakdown of overreaching Federalism by taking a firm stand against Trump’s extradition and calling out the gross failures of NY when the news of a possible arrest first arose, but he stumbled and looked weak.
Two weeks later after being thoroughly spanked by right wing Twitter, he reversed himself and said he would closely examine the case and extradition request, but it might be too little too late.
In the end, win or lose, Bragg has made Trump a martyr and elevated his cult of personality even higher.
Trans Lunacy and the RainbowShirts
The tragedy in Nashville continues the unfortunate trend of waking up a lot of Normies to the fact that we’re witnessing something very different and evil in our current society.
A deranged trans-terrorist murdered 6 people including 3 children this week and the response from the media and it’s Regime puppeteers centered more around sympathy for the killer rather than its/theirs/his/her victims.
CBS made it their policy not to mention trans at all in its reports of the massacre.
The New York Times and other outlets apologized for misgendering the murderer.
Diversity hire Jean-Pierre bemoaned the Trans Community under attack.
And the Trans-activists gang missed the irony of holding a ‘die-in’ at State Capitols across the country just two days after one of their own butchered 6 innocent people in cold blood.
Posters and social media were lit up with the Trans Day of Vengeance to be held on April 1st - a fitting date, since the narrative that Trans people are being hunted and killed left and right is a myth of gargantuan proportions.
The real statistics about a Trans Genocide tell a radically different story.
In 2021, only TWO murders of transgender people were investigated as hate crimes. That was out of 44 transgender deaths that year.
In 2022, various Trans activist groups cite 32 trans people were murdered. But when you dive in and look a little deeper about the circumstances behind the 32, you see many were not targeted due to their gender status (or lack thereof). There are multiple cases in the 32 numbers like “hit and run” and murder by their significant others which is more of a crime of passion than a DEI caliber hate crime.
Trans people are actually murder victims at a far lower number than you would expect based on their population numbers.
So if the numbers on the target side are multiples less than you would expect in light of the “under attack” and “genocide” hysteria, on the opposite side of the spectrum the multiple mass shootings committed by this one subgroup far outpaces what you would expect based on their numbers as well.
In other words, transgender people are more likely to murder than be murdered.
What we’re likely witnessing is a real-time, mass MK Ultra experiment on a very fragile and wounded class of people. When the narrative being suggested to you and constantly programmed again and again is - Conservative America wants you dead and is actively hunting and killing you, aren’t you justified in taking up arms and striking down your ‘enemy’ in self-defense?
That’s the daily programming being fed these highly medicated and suggestible people. Look for a rise in these types of mass shootings and murder to increase. Ironically, they’ll be sealing their own fate in many States by taking this path of violence.
PS: Release the Nashville shooter’s ‘Manifesto’. Enough with government and law enforcement hiding these things from citizens. There’s no justifable reason to keep this classified.
As an aside, I’ve read and pondered for years whether the rise in violence and mass shootings is linked to SSRIs. It’s the common denominator in many of these mass killings that the perpetrator is on various anti-depressants for depression and suicideal ideation.
I don’t disagree entirely with the thesis, but there is a serious causation/correlation question. The people prescribed SSRIs tend to be depressed, suicidal and generally having mental illness troubles. It’s no surprise is it that this subset would be much more likely to commit a mass shooting right?
Rather than take the easy, surface conclusion, I’d pose the following additional questions:
How often did depressed people do this sort of thing before these medications were widely prescribed?
That’s a good question. Don't have a good answer. Could this recent rash of shootings be copycat syndrome from Columbine akin to Bannister opening up the 4 min mile? Could it be smartphone virality and video documentation and widespread media making the shooters famous in every incident prompting clout seeking? Easier access to weapons? A sign of a sicker society? Anti-social media?
The question is whether giving these drugs to these types of people make things worse? It’s like someone who is violent and abusive can be worse when they drink.
Part of the problem is how often these dangerous drugs are prescribed by GP’s with very little oversight. That didn’t happen when these drugs were first introduced.
In certains subset of people these drugs can have worsening effects including hallucinations, making them even more unstable, more depressed, and homicidal so it’s the effect of the drug on their particular biochemistry? Is there a way to measure various baseline genetics, bloodwork, subjective response testing to determine whether some individuals are more susceptible ro inclied to violence upon prescription or after a period of time when the effects of the drug begin to wear off?
All good questions. Sadly, I don’t have the answer.
Parting Thought: Imagine the mental illness if Trump wins again. There may not be enough SSRIs or Xanax in inventory to fill that hole.
OPERATION CHOKEPOINT 2.0
What the Regime can’t accomplish by legislature vote or with democratic support, they just jam thru via Executive Order, or even worse Administrative fiat and other heavy-handed anti-democratic unconstitutional tools.
Operation Chokepoint 2.0 is a perfect example. As Coindesk wrote recently in a rare editorial:
“The Biden administration and federal regulators appear to be using whatever means necessary to cut the cryptocurrency industry off from banking services. Critical observers have dubbed this alleged effort “Choke Point 2.0” after a similar push by the Obama administration to cut undesirable but legal industries off from the financial system.
U.S. officials have so far uniformly denied the existence of any such coordinated agenda. But whether it’s an active extralegal conspiracy or merely an alignment of motivations, the evidence is increasingly clear that crypto is in the crosshairs.”
A new white paper from the Washington D.C. law firm Cooper & Kirk details evidence that the federal bank regulators—the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation ("FDIC"), the Federal reserve Board, and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency ("OCC")—are waging a clandestine, financial war against the cryptocurrency industry.
As the report describes, the federal regulators are using the same regulatory tools and pressure tactics that they used during the notorious "Operation Choke Point": the Obama administration's effort to use informal regulatory pressure and backroom threats to cut off payday lenders, gun and tobacco dealers, and other politically unpopular businesses from the modern financial system. Just like during Operation Choke Point, the banking agencies have now put out informal guidance documents tarring cryptocurrency customers as posing a supposedly heightened risk to banks. Businesses in the cryptocurrency industry are suddenly finding themselves debanked, and stripped of access to the ACH network, without explanation. And in the past few weeks, federal regulators effectively shut down a bank that was known to be serving the crypto industry—and then chose to shutter rather than sell the part of the bank that serves digital asset customers, at a cost of billions of dollars.
It's both politically convenient and economically concerning to see the government turning its eye towards crypto firms. On top of that, the slew of crypto debacles in 2022 - including Sam Bankman-Fried’s string of alleged offenses with FTX – just added fuel to an already burning fire.
The irony of the U.S.'s crackdown on legal, regulated crypto companies is clear: it was fueled by offshore frauds; yet when domestic alleged scams such as Celsius Network occurred, America's oversight agencies were toothless in protecting victims.
Additionally, the assault is a clear effort to eliminate a competitor to the US dollar, CBDCs, and total government financial control. Meanwhile, the traditional finance sector has had its share of scams and explosions lately, all under the ‘tight regulation’ of existing regulators.
The crackdown will only push legitimate firms and innovation offshore. That will have massive intended and unintended consequences - but I’m not sure protecting Americans will be one of them.
AI Alignment and Halt
The essay by AI-skeptic Eliezer Yudkowsky in Time magazine is the first big break into the mainstram media of an issue I’ve been harping on for the last few months - AI Alignment.
For those unaware, ‘alignment’ in the context of AI is simply the theme that a super-intelligence like AI must be ‘aligned’ with human values if we are to escape the fate of Sarah Connor et al in Terminator - namely, the end game of an aware, conscious omnipotent alien intelligence that views its human masters as a ‘threat’ and this acts rationally and correspondingly to disarm or eliminate humanity to preserve it’s own ‘life’. It’s a logical reaction that any sentient being would counter with.
The big questions are, is alignment even possible? And if so, what does human alignment even mean or resemble? And even more important, which humans? The sociopathic, woke megalomaniacs in Silicon Valley who were the architects of control, censorship and disinformation over the last 10 years or some other brand of humanity? Perhaps Mother Teresa? or Vladimir Putin? Dana White? Hunter Biden? The Amish, BLM?
Can the atheists in tech building this leviathan agree (and then actually, succesffully implement) a breakwall that prevents Ai from ‘harming’ humans or acting against their best interests? Will elitists who have openly promoted a depopulation agenda from Climate Change to Covid and onward execute an alignment that sees the death of 6 billion as a ‘necessary evil’ to preserve the resources of the planet for the most productive 20%?
As you can see, it’s a Royal Clusterfuck.
Even scarier is the likelihood that this is an existential Pandora’s Box that’s now been ripped wide open. Even if the above problems can be solved and humans could agree it’s in our best interest to pause and solve them, game theory and realpolitik dictates that the genie is out of the bottle and that non-aligned state actors or terrorist cells will ignore the guardrails and continue to innovate at a breakneck pace.
As I’ve said in the past, AGI (artifical general intelligence) is the only way China can level the playing field and prolong it’s own existence in light of its lack of natural resources (energy, food) and its oncoming demographic collapse. So if we agreed on a 6 month pause per Yudkowsky or the Open Letter that Elon Musk, Steve Wozniak and many other luminaries just signed, does anyone think that China, Russia or Iran would actually comply with that mandate?
China is a bad actor across the board and would never agree. Or even worse, agree and then continue to train. This is a country that cross breeds pigs and men…and they realize AGI is the Hail Mary that digs them out of their financial, demographic hole.
So the choice remains, do you see AI innovation as a Race to the Bottom and slow it down or recognize the difficulties in agreement and enforcement and take another course like speeding it up, hoping that the guardrails we can implement will be enough and that AGI will be the tech Holy Grail that will solve all our problems?
There’s no easy answer, but it starts with recognizing the existential dangers and then asking the right questions above.
Here’s a tweet thread for the Rationalist camp response to the above.
